Step into Blogmas 2019. Christmas Songs

Well hido-ho there my sweets,

Hope you are all well and having a good Tuesday !! Well day 3 is well and truely upon us !!

Today I just got back from running a few errands in town and Christmas is officially in full swing here !! As I was walking through the shop I could hear “Jingle Bell Rock” over the radio and a young child dancing away in the aisle telling their parent that this was their favourite Christmas song as it was their classes dance song in the christmas show…. And it got me thinking “What’s my favourite Christmas song?” to which i reasiled there are so many great ones that it’s hard to pick just one !! But there are a few absolute classics that I have fond memories of when they come on !!

So I thought I’d add one of the nation’s favourites on today’s blog. And add a little fact about is as I like to do and will be doing with the rest of the songs that I put up on my blog, you know, sort of a useless fun fact that could come in handy at a Christmas quiz.

So here it is a must have at Christmas parties if you want to have a sing song.

Band Aid was a charity supergroup featuring mainly British and Irish musicians and artists. It was founded in 1984 by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure and managed to raise an amazing $160 million for anti-famine efforts in Ethiopia by releasing the song “Do They Know It’s Christmas?.

Another reason I picked this song is because it was released on the 3rd of December 1984. It was also re-recorded in 1989, 2004 and 2014.

What is your favourite Christmas track ?

Enjoy this little festive number and I’ll see you tomorrow.

Lots of love.

Em x
